Sainte-Marie is open daily until October 13, 2025. Our fantastic special events, like Hometown Harvest Festival and First Light, happen at specific dates all year round. Pre-booked educational programs and group tours are available most of the year. We look forward to welcoming you!

Hours and Rates

Sainte-Marie is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily until October 13. Admission rates vary by time of year. Please allow about 1.5 hours for your visit. Your regular admission gains you free same-day admission to the Martyrs’ Shrine. We are open rain or shine and are dog-friendly (except during Special Events).

Season Passes

For just $35, tax included, season pass holders gain unlimited admission to both Sainte-Marie and Discovery Harbour during their visitor seasons, as well as unlimited admission to most special events at both historical attractions. The passes include beloved events like Hometown Harvest Festival, First Light and Pumpkinferno!

Special Events

Sainte-Marie hosts dynamic special events all year round! Explore the historic Jesuit mission at night during the Shadows and Stone Evening Experience. Put on a cozy sweater and embrace the fall season during the Hometown Harvest Festival. And of course, enjoy the best of the holiday season by attending First Light, named one of Ontario’s top 100 events!

Heritage Farm

The 17th-century Jesuits, donnés and engagés of Sainte-Marie worked to achieve self-sufficiency and independence from bigger European communities like Québec. A big part of that effort was farming! Come and meet our heritage breed cows, pigs and chickens – or explore our historic gardens. On Fridays in July and August, join the fun with Hands-on Heritage, our farming program for families!

Deals and Packages

Ontario teachers, members of the Canadian Armed Forces and Indigenous persons gain free entry. Your Sainte-Marie paid receipt gets you 50% off at Discovery Harbour until Labour Day weekend. Specialized events and group bookings are not included.

Guided Tours

Immerse yourself in the fascinating story of the historic mission by learning from a friendly and knowledgeable costumed interpreter. Recommended for people ages 10 and up. Guided tours are available from April to October, with varying dates and times.

Indigenous Ingenuity Exhibit

A travelling exhibition presented by Indigenous Tourism Ontario and Science North

From May 31 to September 17, Sainte-Marie will host the Anishinaabewin Maamninendimowin: Pane Gii-Bite exhibit – also known as Indigenous Ingenuity: Timeless Inventions! This captivating exhibit blends science, culture and fun to ignite pride in and appreciation for the incredible innovations of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis communities.

Find Us

Find us at 16164 Highway 12 East in Tay Township, just outside Midland, Ontario. Sainte-Marie is accessible from Ontario’s major provincial highways and several trails. We have a free generous parking lot and bike racks.
