for a truly immersive experience

Join a friendly and knowledgeable guide on a small-group exploration of Sainte-Marie! It’s a great way to take a deeper diver into the story of the historic mission headquarters.

Tours are 60 to 90 minutes in length. Please arrive a minimum of 15 minutes before your tour start to ensure you don’t miss anything. Tour participants spent a lot of time outside and are encouraged to dress for the weather.

The complimentary admission programs for Ontario Teachers, Members of the Canadian Armed Forces, as well as First Nations, Métis and Inuit people do not apply to guided tours, specialized events and group bookings.

Spring Guided Tours: A Unique Experience
March 7 – April 5 (Saturdays & Sundays)

Join an exclusive, small-group tour led by one of our most seasoned historical interpreters this spring—before we are officially open! Tours include a pre-determined route through the historic site, an introductory film as well as access to the Restaurant, Museum and Gift Shop.

March 7 to April 5

  • Saturdays & Sundays
    • 10:15 a.m., 11:15 a.m., 1:15 p.m., and 2:15 p.m.
  • Note: Guided tours will not run March 28/29. Join us instead for the Sweetwater Harvest Festival!

April 6 to April 24

  • Mondays to Fridays
    • 11:15 a.m. and 2:15 p.m
  • Saturdays & Sundays
    • 10:15 a.m., 11:15 a.m., 1:15 p.m., and 2:15 p.m.

Please ensure you arrive for your tour 15 minutes early to ensure you don’t miss anything. The Visitors Centre will open 30 minutes before each tour time.

Note that most buildings will be open, but some will still be undergoing curatorial maintenance in preparation for summer. Historical animals will still be at their home farms.

For the most fulsome living history experience, visit Sainte-Marie in July and August when we offer daily demonstrations and tours. Guided tours offer the perfect beginning or end to your visit.

Hands-on Heritage: Farm Fridays

Looking for a fun, engaging outing with your little ones? These seasonal farm experiences include a brief farm tour; hands-on activities designed for young kids; and opportunities to meet our heritage breeds cows, pigs and chickens. Add to your hands-on heritage fun by picking up a farmer’s hat or souvenir heritage animal stuffie in our gift shop.
